Meetings & Activities

 

Regular membership meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month and are open to all FOP members.

 

The next meetings scheduled for 2008 are:
July 8                                     
August 12                       
September 9         
October 14    
          November 11
                  December 9.

 Regular Membership meetings begin promptly at 1830 hours (6:30 pm) following the Executive Board meeting which begins at 1800 hours.

Meetings are held at the newly renovated NOVA 35 lodge facility.

 ~ NOVA 35 Lodge Facility ~

The newly obtained and recently renovated lodge facility (thanks to many members of the Active and Associate Lodge) is located on the rear portion of land at 7118 Shreve Road, in Falls Church.  It is behind the Falls Church Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post # 9274.

This is (almost directly) behind the McDonald's Restaurant which is located on the SW corner of Route 7 (West Broad Street) and Shreve Road.  It is also very close to the Route 7 exit off of Interstate 66.   It is also very near to the Don Beyer Volvo dealership in west Falls Church.

~ Other NOVA 35 Lodge Happenings ~

  • The Lodge members with the assistance of the Associate Lodge Executive Board again participated in their annual Easter Seals Santa Run. 

  • An additional visit was made to the Veterans Hospital prior to the Easter Seal party. 

  • Lodge Members of Nova 35 participated in several Police Week activities (May 11 - 17, 2008). 

    • Attended activities and the Memorial Service in Washington, D.C.

    • Participated in a memorial presentation for fallen officers in Arlington, VA.

    • Hosted an open house at the lodge facility with a picnic cook-out on Saturday, May 17.  A number of visiting law enforcement members from other jurisdictions, military veterans, lodge and associate lodge members were in attendance.  Again thanks to the board members, the active, and the associate lodge members that participated, worked, cooked, and attended.

  • The lodge will be sending representatives (Members of the Executive Board) to the Virginia State Lodge Biennial Convention in Norfolk, August 25th. - 28th.  There is a package available from the host lodge for members that wish to attend.
